When I was packing for my trip to India, I thought about taking my huge DSLR camera for about 2 minutes and then decided against it. Why? Well, because it’s bloody heavy and I figured my phone camera would have to do. Turns out I was right! Today I’m sharing my six favourite travel photos with you!
I took all of these pictures on my old Sony Xperia Z3 compact, which has a pretty decent 20 Megapixel camera. Honestly, when I was taking these pictures I didn’t even notice how stunning they were until I pulled them up on a laptop a few months later!
1. Monkey Temple in Jaipur, India
What I love most about this picture is the composition of it. The two monkeys in the front and the stunning temples in the background really make the atmosphere of this picture. Read more about my visit to the hidden monkey temple in Jaipur here!
2. Sunrise in Koh Yao Noi, Thailand
I visited the island of Koh Yao Noi for a yoga retreat and they also offered a Tai Chi class at sunrise. Sunrise was around 5:45am and in the week I was there I managed to get out of bed (well my friend actually pulled my blanket down to wake me up!) and I got to see the most beautiful sunrise of my travels! If you want to find out more about my time on this stunning island, read this post!
3. Tea Fields in the Cameron Highlands, Malaysia
This photo was shot at a quick picture stop during a tour I took in the Cameron Highlands. It was a rather cloudy day which was perfect for taking pictures and it really brought out the green of the fields! Read this post to learn more about my time there!
4. Sunrise at Mount Batur, Indonesia
In the early morning of my 28th birthday, I climbed up a volcano in Indonesia to witness this incredible sunrise. It was pure magic to see the sun making its way above the clouds! Click here for more pictures from Mount Batur!
5. Trấn Quốc Pagoda in Hanoi, Vietnam
One of the most photogenic spots in Hanoi that I came across by pure coincidence! I decided to walk to the main sights in Hanoi which turned out to be quite the distance. I think I ended up walking for about 10 kms that day but it was all worth it when I finally got to this stunning pagoda on an artificial island in the lake. Read more about the sights of Hanoi in this blog post.
6. Wat Sampov Pram Temple near Kampot, Cambodia
Located on Bokor Mountain in the south of Cambodia, this temple offers a great view of the nearby sea. The weather really contributed to the magical atmosphere of this picture! Click here to see more magical photos from Bokor Mountain!
